Seeders-LWAF Kicks Off Its New Batch | 2018-09-27

This year, IM Capital has merged both its angel groups Seeders and LWAF to kick off the new batch of its Master Class for Business Angels (MBA): Seeders- LWAF Class of 2018-19. The group fund will allocate a 50% quota to invest in women-led startups.

The first investment meeting gathering 23 new investors took place on September 27, 2018 at The Smallville Hotel in Badaro.

The day started with two workshops presented by Mrs. Maria Carolina Romero, Head of Portfolio Products at Go Beyond, the program’s international partner. The workshops covered the early-stage investing overview and investment process engaging the audience and guiding them in developing the group’s investment strategy.

Aside from the educational aspect of the program, the angel group also benefited from hands-on experience through 3 pitching sessions by promising startups from diverse sectors namely a furniture design platform, a platform for property management, and a touring business.

The meeting concluded with lively debriefing to be followed by due diligence, majority voting, and a joined decision on group investments to be made in any of the pitching ventures.

The next meeting is scheduled for November 8 and will be moderated by Mrs. Maria Carolina Romero, Head of Portfolio Products at Go Beyond.
